Family Background
Shaykh Dr. Nadeem Qureshi Hashmi Naqshbandi (damat barakatuhum) was born in the city of Multan , Pakistan . His paternal grandfather, Azizuddin Qureshi (rahmatullah) was a shaykh in the Quadriah tariqah and from his maternal side he is related to Makhdoom Rasheed Qureshi who was a well renowned shaykh from the city of Multan . The town where he was laid to rest was later named after him and is known as Makhdoom Rasheed. It is situated about 40 miles outside the city of Multan . Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi ((db) ) spent his early life in Multan. During his teen years he got actively involved in the work of dawah and tabligh and was also appointed as the Ameer of his local masjid for a few years.

Education and Career
Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  completed his studies in the field of Medicine and graduated with an MBBS degree from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur. Meanwhile his family migrated to the United States so Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db) also joined his family after completing his studies in the year 1989. He continued his studies in the field of Medicine and completed specialization in Pediatrics (MD) from Elmhurst Hospital, New York City. He later went on to establish a multi specialty group practice by the name of “Fatima Pediatric Medical Care” in the city of New York .

Spiritual Development
In 1994 Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db) was blessed to meet with Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi (damat barakatuhum). Being acquainted with tasawwuf because of his ancestors efforts he soon became an avid murid of Shaykh Zulfiqar (db)  and began his spiritual development and training under him. After keeping him under his supervision for almost ten years Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad (db) granted him Khilafah in the Naqshbandi Mujaddedi tariqah on Jan 1st 2004. Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  during all these years has been completely dedicated to his Shaykh and helped him to organize events, schedule his travel plans and a host of other dawah activities in North America.

Traditional Islamic Education
Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  attended a number of small courses related to the deen under Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad (db) . He also enrolled himself in Darul-Ullom , New York ’s Alim program and completed the first year course of Dars-e-Nizami with its teachers. However due to his hectic schedule he was unable to continue further education as a full time student at the Darul-Ullom so he later continued his education privately under Maulana Shaykh Saeed (db)  (a graduate from Al Ahzar University) and Mufti Shareef Fani (db)  . He is currently studying the wifaq curriculum under Mufti Ateeq-ur-Rahman (db) .

Activities
Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  holds weekly bayan sessions over teleconference and also holds a monthly gathering at his khanaqah in New York which is also broadcast over teleconferencing. Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  also gives individual guidance and consultation to salikeen (seekers on the path) and fellow Muslims who approach him for consultation.

Hajj and Umrah services
Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  undertook the blessed journey of Hajj several times under the guidance of his Shaykh Maulana Zulfiqar Ahmad (db) . Later on he started taking his own group to Hajj from the year 2005 with the permission of his Shaykh. The Hajj group is called “Tawwabeen Hajj Group” and has a current capacity to take up to a hundred hujjaj every year. The limited positions get filled up very quickly every year as the group is accompanied by scholars and Huffaz of the Holy Qur’an and the hajees get a golden opportunity to increase their knowledge as well as spirituality through an abundance of Zikr sessions throughout the duration of the trip. Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db)  also started taking groups on Umra starting this year (2008).

Paak Funeral Services
Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db) has started Funeral services for the Muslims of tristate area. His wife graduated from Nassau Community College as the first Muslim Funeral Director in the United States . With her assistance, Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (db) is serving the community by providing a proper Islamic burial to the deceased. The word “Paak” in Urdu means pure, hence the intention of this service is to provide a pure burial service to our community, observing the principles of taharah, taqwa and complete purdah as laid down by the Shariah.

Islamic Education: Al-Muallim
Shaykh Nadeem Qureshi (damatullahi barakatahu) is also working diligently on a portal for online Islamic learning called Al-muallim. The portal is being designed in collaboration with several Ullama. Nasuha Publications
